SEO Audit Service · From $1,500 One-Time

Most SEO audits collect dust.
This one ships fixes.

Independent audit covering technical SEO, content, backlinks, and competitive positioning. Delivered as a prioritised 90-day plan your team can actually execute. No retainers, no agency lock-in.

Request Audit Scope

The SEO audit is a fixed-scope engagement: a full technical, content, backlink, and competitive review of your site, delivered as a prioritised 90-day action plan in 7–10 business days. Pricing scales with site complexity: $1,500 for small sites (under 500 URLs), $3,500 for mid-size ecommerce or content sites, and $7,500 for enterprise catalogs above 50,000 URLs. An optional 30-day implementation retainer is available if your team needs hands-on execution support after the audit lands.

What You Get

-

Technical crawl that finds what tools miss

Screaming Frog and Sitebulb crawl the full site. Crawl budget waste, orphaned pages, redirect chains, index bloat, canonical conflicts, hreflang errors. Cross-referenced with Google Search Console data to filter out issues that look bad but do not affect rankings. The result is a list of fixes that actually change rankings, not 2,400 warnings.

-

Core Web Vitals at the page level

LCP, CLS, and INP measured per page template, not sitewide averages. Home, category, product, blog, landing. Mobile vs desktop. Specific recommendations for each failing metric: which images to lazy-load, which third-party scripts are blocking the main thread, which templates need a render-blocking resource review. Page-level fixes your dev team can implement without guessing.

-

Content audit for thin pages and cannibalisation

Every URL evaluated for content depth, search intent match, and ranking potential. Cannibalisation identified at the keyword cluster level. Thin pages flagged with a recommended action: rewrite, merge, consolidate, or noindex. Content gaps mapped against competitor coverage so you know which topics to build next.

-

Backlink profile with toxic link diagnosis

Ahrefs and Semrush data on referring domains, anchor text distribution, and link velocity trends. Toxic links identified with disavow recommendations. Comparison against competitor authority profiles so you know the link gap you need to close. Concrete link acquisition opportunities based on what is working for the sites already ranking above you.

-

Competitive audit for your money keywords

Who ranks for the terms driving your revenue, what their content looks like, how their internal linking is structured, and why they beat you. Not a generic "they have more backlinks" answer. Specific gaps you can close and patterns you can replicate, with an honest assessment of which competitors are beatable in 6 months and which are not.

-

Prioritised 90-day action plan

Every finding consolidated into a sequenced plan ordered by impact-to-effort ratio. Each item: the issue, the fix with implementation notes or code, the expected impact, and the recommended order. Written for your developer and marketer to execute without translating consultant-speak. This is the part most audits skip, and the reason most audits collect dust.

My Approach to SEO Audits

The most common SEO audit failure mode is the 200-issue PDF. The auditor runs Screaming Frog, exports everything, hands it over, and the client gets a 180-page document nobody reads. Six months later, the same technical problems are still there because the report told them what was wrong but not what to do first, second, and third.

My audits are scoped to what will actually change rankings. The crawl identifies issues affecting live rankings by cross-referencing with Google Search Console. Pages that are not indexed and not receiving traffic are not in the priority queue. Pages driving impressions but ranking on page two are at the top, because they are closest to a position improvement.

Content audits get the same filtering. A 2,000-word page ranking #14 for a commercial keyword is a rewrite candidate. A 400-word page ranking #4 for an informational query with no commercial intent is fine as-is. Most audits flag both as "thin content" because the tool checks word count, not ranking position or intent. The fix is different for each, and the priority is different too.

Competitive analysis focuses on what is actually beatable. If the #1 result for your money keyword is Amazon or a $50M ecommerce brand with 10 years of domain authority, that is a different problem than a 200-page competitor ranking on the strength of one well-built page. I separate the two and recommend strategies appropriate to each, instead of pretending a 6-month content push will outrank Amazon.

The 90-day plan is the deliverable that matters. Each item has a specific owner suggestion (developer, content writer, SEO), an estimated effort in hours, and a predicted impact band (low, medium, high) based on what I have seen move rankings on similar sites. After the audit lands, the optional 30-day implementation retainer is there for teams that need execution support. Most clients do not need it. The ones that do, save months.

Who This Is For

The audit fits ecommerce brands with 200+ SKUs, SaaS companies with active content production, B2B sites competing for non-branded commercial keywords, and any business that has stopped growing organically and wants to understand why before committing to an ongoing retainer. It also works for teams preparing a site migration or platform change who need a baseline before the rebuild.

It does not fit sites under 6 months old with no content history, businesses that want a quick top-10 list rather than a sequenced plan, or companies expecting a quick-win guarantee. SEO is rarely a 30-day fix — the audit gives you the map, but the work itself is on you, on a retainer, or on a freelancer you hire to execute it. I am happy to recommend execution partners if you need one after the audit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the SEO audit include?
Technical crawl and indexation audit using Screaming Frog and Sitebulb, page-level Core Web Vitals analysis, content audit for thin pages and cannibalisation, backlink profile review for toxic links and anchor distribution, competitive analysis for your money keywords, and a prioritised 90-day action plan. Every finding is mapped to a specific fix with implementation notes — not vague observations.
How is this different from running Ahrefs or Semrush myself?
Tools produce data. You already have access to most of them. What tools cannot do is interpret that data in the context of your specific market, business model, and competitive position, then sequence the fixes by impact. The audit is the translation layer between raw data and a usable plan your dev team or in-house marketer can execute.
How long does the audit take?
7–10 business days from access confirmation. For sites above 50,000 URLs, allow 14 business days. The bottleneck is manual review, not crawl speed. Every recommendation is checked against what your actual competitors are doing before it goes into the deliverable.
What access do you need?
Read-only access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4. View-only admin access to your CMS or website admin (Shopify, WordPress, custom). I do not need hosting credentials, database access, or write access anywhere.
Why does pricing scale with site size?
A 50-page local service site and a 200,000-URL ecommerce catalog do not take the same amount of work to audit. Crawl data analysis, content review, and competitive mapping scale linearly with site complexity. The tiered pricing reflects the actual time each scope requires.
What is the implementation retainer and when does it make sense?
Most audits fail at implementation: the report lands, the team gets busy, and six months later nothing has changed. The 30-day implementation retainer covers execution of the top priorities from the audit — typically 10–15 high-impact fixes — plus two check-in calls. It is optional and only worth it if your team cannot ship the fixes in-house within a month.
Is the audit the same as your monthly SEO retainer?
No. The audit is a one-time engagement with a fixed deliverable. The monthly retainer is ongoing strategy, content production, link building, and continuous optimisation. Many clients start with the audit, then decide on a retainer once they have clarity on what needs to change.
What is the deliverable format?
A structured PDF/Notion document with: executive summary (1 page), findings by area (technical, content, backlinks, competitive), severity-rated issue inventory, specific fixes with code or configuration examples, and a prioritised 90-day plan ordered by impact-to-effort ratio. A 60-minute walkthrough call is included to answer implementation questions.
